Abstract

This dissertation develops a human-centered approach to guidance in visual analytics across three connected goals: designing ways to communicate guidance, developing guidance-enriched systems with end users, and democratizing their creation through reusable interface components. Together, these contributions help people and AI collaborate more effectively during complex data analysis.
